Thursday: TLW review for Chapter 11 Test
* Complete chapter 11 study guide and review for unit test

Friday: TLW evaluate skills and concepts presented in readings and discussions about the growing nation.
Chapter 11 all
* Students will complete a multiple choice and short essay test to demonstrate understanding of the concepts and skills presented in chapter 11.

Thursday: TLW continue reviewing essay fundamentals
* Complete practice writing assessment
* Peer review and edit essays in class

Friday: TLW review weekly vocabulary words and use in context.
* Complete weekly vocabulary quiz and review in class
* Extra credit available after quiz

Thursday: TLW describe how settlers traveled west.
Chapter 11, Section 2, pages 337-341
* List methods of transportation
* Discuss the effect an improved transportation system would have on the factory system
* Read section 2 orally, while discussing and recording main ideas
* Homework: Section Review Questions assigned in class and writing activity on p. 341.

* Discuss various ways to “grab” and “hook” the reader with a strong introduction
* Complete practice paragraph writing and discuss

Thursday: TLW continue review of expository writing.
* Review introductions
* Focus on “nitty-gritty” details within the context of an essay and how to spice up

Friday: TLW complete vocabulary review and continue review of writing fundamentals.
* Complete weekly vocabulary quiz
* Review how to end writing with a “bang”
